Hi there you all. I thought I'd come by and tell everyone how much I enjoyed the Spirit Party this year. I'd planned to get to the Riverfront but didn't get to. I heard BR and band rocked that place! But then... of course they did ;o)!
The party was a BLAST!!!!! Tish got up and said a few words and introduced Miley to sing a few songs for us. That little girl was GREAT! She is gonna be a little star for sure. She is growin up so fast. Noah even sang us a song, 'Jesus Loves Me'...it was precious, just like her. Both Tish and BR were beamin with pride, as they should be. Billy Ray sang a little bit from so many songs that I can't remember all of them. He was great...as always. He cracked a few jokes and seemed to be enjoying himself a lot. Not nearly as much as those of us gettin to listen to him though I'll bet. Even though he didn't show it, he had to have been worn out by the time it was all over and he'd signed all those autographs and taken pictures with everyone there. I got to visit with a lot of other fans at the party and enjoyed the heck outta that!
Well, gonna run. Everyone take care.

Charma wrote a great, detailed review. It made me feel like I was there. Thanks for letting me copy it here.

Wow, what a show we saw in Ashland, KY last night at The Paramont. Billy Ray looked great and sounded fantastic. He did a lot of the old familiar songs plus four new ones. The new ones were "I Want My Mullet Back", "I Wonder", "I Want To Be Your Joe" and "Country Music Has The Blues". The radio station WTRC actually played "I Want My Mullet Back". I don't know if they played any other songs, but I did hear that one. He didn't move around as much as he did at the Riverfront STage Show in Nashville, but he was doing a little bit of dancing.
Before the show, Miley sang her two songs that she sung at the Fan Club Party and did a great job. Also, Kevin (Kebo) Cyrus sang a song he wrote called "My Brother" and said that the lyrics were all about when the brothers were growing up, etc. The emcee joked that next Billy Ray's great, great grandmother was going to entertain us. He was kidding, of course.

Carol Shaw, my Aunt Phyllis, and I got to Ashland at about 3:15 p.m. and saw several other fans at the bus area. We waited there until about 4:45 p.m. I think it was and Billy Ray came out of the building and joined an older man who I think someone said was his uncle. He briefly said hello to the fans who were there and asked us how we were doing. He had on a white shirt with some green on it of some kind. Some of us didn't even have our cameras ready to take pics, but I am sure someone got one. I did get the back of them when they were walking across the street. They went into a building on the corner where there was a radio station.

We then went to get a bite to eat at Bob Evans.

Then when we got back we saw Billy Ray going into th building about 7:30 p.m. for the Meet and Greet. So we decided it was time to get to our seats.

After the show, Billy Ray shook some hands and touched others, but did not sign anything and did not do an encore even though the crowd stayed around for quite awhile and were yelling for one. I don't know why he didn't do one, but it may have something to do with time and when he needs to be out of the theater. Sure wish he could have done at least one more song.

We then went outside and waited for him to come out to the car to leave. Tish was driving and he got in and they pulled out. He was waving at everyone from the car. They were staying at the Ashland Plaza where lots of other fans were staying so there may be some great stories about after the show from some of the fans that were staying there.

We left then to drive home (about 2 1/2 hrs.). Florence and Patsy G. were there, and Florence got to get a big hug from Billy earlier at the hotel. She will probably want to tell more about that.

Just to name a few fans --Pam Smith, Wendy and Terry from Canada were there. It was great seeing them. Barbara and Christina, Nancy Hughes, Debby Trask, Deb Culberson, Dottie and Gary Shelt, Imogene, Peggy, Faye from TN, the McNutts from OH, just to name a few. I think Vera was there, but I never did see her. I am sure I've left out a lot, but my memory isn't that good. Naomi Judd's mom was sitting with Billy Ray's mom, and BR thanked her for being there and told her to tell Wynona that they should do a tour together sometime. Billy Ray even got Braison to come out on stage to pick up a shirt and show the audience that a fan had left on stage. Noah was there on the side just dancing away. Billy Ray's Dad was also in the audience.

Joy was on Nancy's cell phone and talking to all of the Sly Dogs so she will have some stories for us, I bet.

Well, that is all for me. I will let someone else fill in the rest of the details and some behind the scenes and after the show stories that I missed.

Charma wrote another great review. This one is for the Prestonburg show.

Billy Ray and Slydog were all in such a great mood that night and there were lots of Cyrus family members in the house. Ron Cyrus is celebrating his birthday today, I think BR said. Braison and Billy Ray found a hat that they thought would be perfect for him and they called him up to the stage to give it to him and wish him a Happy Birthday! Billy Ray also sang Busy Man right after that.

They did mostly older songs except for "I Want My Mullet Back." BR really likes doing that one. He also mentioned that his hair was a mess and he wanted to know if anyone had clippers, shears, a lawnmower and maybe a bushhog to give him a haircut. It seemed to be really bothering him. I wouldn't be surprised if he gets a buzzcut someday out of the blue.

One time he started clogging on stage and said he liked to clog but he likes to "unclog" even better sometimes.

The security was pretty nice. They only told the fans to get away from the stage a few times when some of the other people in the first 3 rows couldn't see over them. Once ABH played though and so many fans went to the stage, they didn't even try to clear us out. It was a very touching moment to see his uncle Bobby on stage and reciting his stories. He was only going to do one and then after everyone applauded, he decided to try another one. Billy Ray made the comment that once a Cyrus hears applause, you can't get them off the stage or something like that. His uncle got stuck a few times in the second story and finally said that was enough and left the stage. BR's cousin sounds a lot like George Jones and they sounded good together on his song. On our way home from Prestonburg, we stopped at a place near Louisa, KY called the Route 23 Country Music Highway Showcase where they had memorabilia from all the stars that were from that area, like Keith Whitley, The Judds, Loretta Lynn, Ricky Skaggs, etc. Billy Ray's had been temporarily taken down due to a leak in the roof, but they also had Bobby Cyrus in the display.

I would say that the Prestonburg show was even better than the Ashland show. They are really getting warmed up so look out at the next shows coming up. They will be wild and ready to party.

Someone in the audience tried to get them to do Wild Thing, but Terry said he doesn't know that song so they didn't do it. LOL

Also, when Billy Ray did Tenntucky and said he wanted to change the words a little to just Kenntucky. I liked it like that.

Just before singing Some Gave All, he mentioned a couple of servicemen who are overseas that a lady on the front row had told him about and he asked that we pray for them and also he said that he had just sang at a funeral for a soldier who was killed in Iraq who had two small children and he wanted to sing it again for him because once at the funeral just wasn't enough.

He did the Star Spangled Banner it seemed just as the feeling came over him to do it and the crowd sang along.
