I have had an artist crush on Rodney Crowell since I was 10. When I bought his most recent The Outsider, I thought it would take me until the next Rodney Crowell cd to find another one I likes as well. Imagine my surprise when I happened across this gem of an album on KGSR. An exlectic album is fuses blues, rock and even the occassional Regae beat (Mostly stunningly on Mama's Favorite Son), he even borrows the melody to "America, The Beautiful" to add an ironic twist to "Take Advantage" a song which compares current America to a woman trapped in an abusive relationship.

Stand Out Tracks:
Beautful Mistake: A rousing love song that sums up the albums title perfectly.
Long Long Time: A spoken word montauge about life in these United States, including the best line of the year "Now they're packed with stinking SUVs and two story pick-up trucks that can drive over everything except the two story pick up truck right in front of it."
When It All Comes Down: A tragic and pretty love song about a man trying to pull his loved ones to him when end times hit.
